Terms of use
Terms of use.
The CoC Alliance site is a free, informational hub for Continuum of Care and HMIS practitioners. The terms below are short because we are not selling anything.
What this is
cocalliance.org is a public-facing site for the CoC Alliance, a national peer network of Continuum of Care and HMIS leaders. It includes the CoC Finder, a description of the network, and a request-to-join page. The CoC Alliance itself is a voluntary peer network. Membership coordination happens on Slack and is governed by Slack's own terms.
CoC Finder accuracy
The CoC Finder uses publicly available CoC boundary data. We do our best to keep the dataset current, but boundaries change over time and our copy may lag. If a result looks wrong for your area, email us and we will check it against HUD's current published boundaries.
Acceptable use
Use this site for any lawful purpose related to learning about CoCs and connecting with the network. Don't scrape the CoC Finder dataset (it is public; talk to HUD if you need a bulk copy), don't attack the site, and don't impersonate other people or organizations when asking to join.
Membership and Slack conduct
Membership in the CoC Alliance Slack is a privilege, not a right. We may remove members who behave abusively toward other members, share confidential client information in violation of HIPAA or HMIS data standards, or use the network to promote unrelated commercial products.
No warranty
The site is provided as-is. We do not warrant that it will always be available, that the CoC Finder dataset is current, or that anything posted by members on Slack is accurate. Use your own judgment.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to this site is limited to USD $0. Neither party is liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Charlotte County, Florida.
Changes
If we change these terms, we will update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top.
